The skylake CPU does a good job at playing games and rendering videos, I'm very happy with it since January 2016.The stock cooler isn't loud but it is audible from feet away. Bad noise quality though. The 6600K and 6700K are the only Skylake processors that don't have stock coolers as far as I know. i5-6600 stock cooler

I5 6600 stock cooler or hyper 212 evo. Yeah, you probably should just stick with the stock cooler unless you're going to buy an ASRock Z170 board and try overclocking with the BCLK. Other than that, you don't really need aftermarket cooling unless you plan on running this PC in a really hot environment, eg. ambient temperatures of 35 celsius.

It will work and won't cause any problems, but it might be a little noisy and your chip will get a bit hot. My advice would be to build the system, and then see if you find the stock cooler too noisy or not, and then buy an aftermarket cooler if you think it is. While the Cryorig H7 is a great cooler, it isn't needed for an i5 6600; the stock cooler is fine unless the OP plans on running the latest version of Prime95 for hours. Stock cooler is poor.
